Confessions of a Cultural Spy


      A spy is sent abroad by President Carter to investigate European culture.

The questions raised by this show, which premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe, are very timely in the present era of transatlantic misunderstanding.

Mark Johnson was born in
Chicago in 1949 but has spent most of his life in Switzerland.  He studied philosophy at the University of Arizona and has an M.F.A. from Bard College, New York.  He is the head of the Arts Department at Institut Montana, an international school in central Switzerland and is the co-founder and artistic director of gStrings Attachedh, a company based in Zurich that performs original shows in English and German with mainly Swiss themes and original music.  gStrings Attachedh has performed often at the Garage International at both the Edinburgh Fringe and the Avignon Off. gConfessions of a Cultural Spyh is the first one-man show produced by the company.
