Life. Three Voices., is a collection of stories, a gallery of voices that are screaming to be heard. Injustice, hatred, love, anger and wisdom all shine through in this three piece theatre composition. The play is comprised of one monologue and two short plays. It opens with Tomorrow will be worse, a heart-rending monologue in which several voices tie and untie the true-life case of Maher Arar, a Canadian citizen who was wrongly accused of being involved in terrorist activities by the US government and rendered to Sudan where he was illegally tortured. The victim, his wife, a journalist, a judge, an American senator and even a former US Secretary of Justice share the stage with the writer and actress in this moving theatre piece. The Biography, a comedic one-act play in which an aging Grande Dame of Spanish avant-garde theater holds an interview with a theatre professor from the United States. During the process of the interview, this lady reveals thorny and painful family secrets, as well as showing a deep hatred for the man who turned her into his muse, and a strange obsession with an animal called Delaware. Based on her personal experience as a Spanish and English teacher while living in India, the actress will impart a language class, in which the audience will become the students, and the teacher will learn deeper notions than she could ever teach. Marta Rubio is a New-York trained actress who has starred in over 20 plays, in Madrid, New York and Barcelona, as well as appeared in several Spanish films.She founded Galante Productions in 2005 with the aim of producing quality theatre in English and Spanish. She also directs and writes for the stage. She lives in Madrid. Emilio Williams is an American-Spanish playwright whose plays have been performed in Spain and the US. His two monologues are part of Strindberg Sonata, a five-piece play premiered in Madrid in 2007, to be premiered in the US in 2009-2010.
