Theatre S’AMOURAILLES is a French
professional company created in 2000 that work with various artists (from ESAD
P. Debauche and ARTA Paris) aiming to present a diversity in the productions
integrating various arts such as music, dance, painting, video, martial
arts... For this unique creation Theatre S’AMOURAILLES delighted to go on the traces of the famous author of Treasure Island and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde have followed the same path as Stevenson 124 years after him. Theatre S’AMOURAILLES walked 13 days with a donkey performing at night in the towns and villages passed trough creating a contemporary Road Theatre… and now all over Europe roads. An amazing experience adapted for the stage as a monologue for the great actor Christophe CHAUMETTE and directed by Romain FOHR, combining the body’s, sounds, images alchemy, with both French and English language. The Story : Stevenson, in the tradition of great and famous travellers undertakes a picturesque voyage on the 22nd of September. From the French town Le Puy to Saint Jean du Gard, passing through the forests and mountains of Lozere the country of the famous BEAST of Gevaudan !- Stevenson walks with a grey donkey called Modestine. This young Scottish writer aged 28, at the time unknown, writes every night his diary inviting us during 13 days to follow him from an Inn to a resting place under the stars. A simple and humorous story that divulge his impressions and visions of Mankind. We discover then his unique meeting with the fascinating power of nature : The Wild ! A fantastic text and story that allows the discovery of great human contemporary adventure. |
